Through Her Eyes: A Journey to Jesus

When John Paull II published Rosarium Virginis
Mariae - On The Most Holy Rosary the reaction of
the Catholic faithful was immediate and profound. Most
were humbled and excited to be present at such a
transformational moment in history, sensing that the
tremendous impact and importance of this document will
only be realized over centuries and will transform the
Church in ways we cannot imagine as yet.
In the
apostolic letter (that's a personal letter from the Big
Guy to all of us!) John Paul II called for a Year of the
Rosary to bring peace to a very troubled world.
Impressive enough. But, he went further and suggested
that five new mysteries be added to the Most Holy Rosary
in order to more fully examine and delve the heart of
God's love as lived through the life of Christ.
Others reacted differently. At Domestic Church, we first created a Rosary Coloring and Activity book. We hope that the fun and educational book will evangelize and catechize children and their parents. We also began work on "Marian Devotions in the Domestic Church," the third (and best so far!) in the series. Watch for its publication in early 2005.
Catholic singer songwriter and recording artist Mark Mallett responded to Rosarium Virginis Mariae with an outpouring of his own considerable talent with a a Rosary CD called "Through Her Eyes: A Journey to Jesus".
According to Mark Mallett's web site, the work is "a direct response to Pope John Paul II's call to the faithful to rediscover the beauty, power and depth of the Rosary once again. Produced by Mark and two intense years in the making, this powerful and contemporary CD offers a completely new method to contemplate the mysteries of the Rosary."
Dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of all America and star of the new evangelization, the work follows the Pope's guidelines on the structure of the Rosary. "Through Her Eyes" uses compelling original music scores to draw the listener deep into the mysteries of Christ's life. The music, especially the Apostle's Creed and Our Father, is haunting, inspiring, invigorating — the kind that stays with you as a faith soundtrack for your day. I'm having trouble hanging on to my review copy — people want to borrow it and I just know I won't get it back! They'll just have to buy your own. I strongly urge that everyone does.

About the Artist:
Mark & and his wife Lea are a devout Catholic couple raising our six young children, with a full-time ministry in the Catholic Church. Mark tours extensively throughout Canada and abroad giving parish missions and concerts.
